JUST SCIENCE – NOTHING PERSONAL

Or there is something you need to understand before believe in inexplicable anything

You can believe in anything, but you can trust it only if it is proved scientifically.

Why? – If you refer to REAL science it means you refer to the fact obtained in different labs. They call it a reliable result.

Looks boring for you? Let us look at… salt.

One can believe salt was DESIGNED TO BE SALT. (No matter who or what was a designer).

A chemist says it is NaCl. OK, it is NaCl and it is salt. No surprise.

We use salt to pleased our taste and preserve our food from been used by microbes.

I am sure you still believe that it is nothing about science to know about salt designed by somebody. You believe in salt and all its features useful for a human.

Exactly. That is a crucial point. You know that salt is useful. You knew this at once when your mother cooked something tasty for you in the kitchen. Because she did not hesitate to use salt in proper concentration while making pancakes for you. You watched this dozens of times.

So a chemist. He/she knows that salt is NaCl, and that he/she got this result every time he/she analyzed this crystalline powder.

But…

No. 1. There are so many recipes of so delicious dishes where salt is a necessary component. And this is not enough just your mother efforts and her believe in salt to create the Professional Chef cookbook of 1214 pages, not saying about Nanny Ogg’s Cookbook.

No.2. NaCl has been digested into Na and Cl since then. And it appeared a huge number of chemical reactions can be carried out with Na and Cl and the rest of the Periodic Table of chemical elements to add.

You ask – “And what?”

The answer is evident. There were thousands of years (at least 10,000), millions of kitchens and hundreds of millions of gourmands experimented in those kitchens, not to add the open fire and barbecue, that proved that salt pleases our taste and preserves our food.

You believe in salt without modern science because your ancestors did not call their kitchens as Labs.

As a scientist, I am proud to tell that if you know something for sure, it was proved by many generations before you by means of multiple personal experiments and experiences.

And the final point.

I would not recommend you to experiment with Higgs boson in your kitchen. Too expensive…
